For used car dealers

Car dealer websites, with the back office built in.

A used car dealer website designed and written for one dealership, with the software that runs the forecourt underneath it.

  1. Every car gets a page of its own

Photographs, specification, mileage, the monthly figure and a representative example where you offer finance, the preparation it has had, and what is covered when it leaves. One URL per car, which is what a search engine needs and what somebody sends their partner at eleven at night.

The page is built from the car’s own record, the one the stock list and the feeds read too, so a price changed in the back office changes on all three. A car marked sold comes off the featured stock on the home page as soon as it is marked.

  2. Website copy written for your dealership

We write the words from what the business tells us and what it already says about itself: the reasons somebody buys from this dealer rather than the one down the road.

On the site we built as a pitch to Tickhill Trade Cars that meant saying every car gets a fresh MOT with the advisories fixed, that nobody on the staff is paid commission, and that the buyer’s legal rights get a page of their own.

  3. One dealer to an area

A great deal of the build goes into ranking for the local searches your buyers use. Two of our sites in one town would be our own work competing with itself, which helps neither dealer, so we build for one dealer within twenty miles by road and it is written into the agreement rather than said on a page.

It ends when your agreement does. We do not tell the next dealer whose area it was.

  4. What it costs

No setup fee and no website build fee: your website is designed, built and launched as part of your plan, with the back office included. Then £179, £279 or £449 a month depending on how many cars you carry and how many detailed vehicle lookups are included. Vehicle history checks and valuations are pay as you go, bought inside your dashboard. Every feature is on every tier. If you run a workshop too, that side is an add-on at £99 a month, and its own website is built free.

The monthly pays for a design and a set of words made for one dealership, the back office underneath them, the hosting and your detailed vehicle lookups.

Questions

Do I own the website?

It is designed, built and looked after as part of your plan, and after twelve monthly payments it is yours to keep, free, whenever you ask for it. Earlier handover is possible for a fee set out in the terms. The back office and the desktop app stay ours, and you use them while you are a customer. What you put into them is yours: your invoices, stock book, purchase invoices, customers and diary download from Settings at any time.

Can I keep my domain and my email?

Yes. Your domain stays where it is and only the web records change. Every mail record is copied first and there is a rollback that takes five minutes. Email going down during a move is the failure everyone in this trade has a story about, and it happens when nameservers are changed carelessly.

Send us your current website and we’ll redesign it with your own cars and photographs, ready in 5 working days. No payment details and no obligation.

Don’t worry about switching. We take care of the move: your email stays as it is, every old page is redirected to its new one, and your stock comes in from a file. We also set up the feeds for MOTORS (with Cazoo and eBay), CarGurus (with PistonHeads) and Gumtree, and Auto Trader through your own Auto Trader account, once Auto Trader has approved the connection.

Going live is optional: from £179 a month, including your bespoke website, on a twelve-month minimum.
